How many children will there be in each group?

A maximum of 8 children per teacher will attend each club or workshop.

What are your plans for social distancing?

In line with Government advice, children will sit a minumum of one metre apart throughout unless they are in Year bubbles at school clubs. Should children need assistance with their projects, there will be a separate work area where they can set down their work and step back, allowing the teacher to assess where the child has got stuck and help them get back on track.

Will the children need to wear masks?

No. In line with schools' procedures, children will not be required to wear masks and neither will the teacher running the workshop.

How will you make the equipment and room you provide safe for my child?

Each child will be issued with their own scissors, needles, pins, thread and fabric. For items that will be re-used in other classes, these will be thoroughly disinfected before being used by another child. On top of the thorough cleaning being provided by our chosen venues, we will be wiping down all surfaces before and after the club or workshop. We will also have hand sanitizer available for the duration of the club or workshop.

What is your refund policy?

A full refund will be issued in the event of a full lockdown, school closure or cancelled club for any missed sessions. If your child is ill or self-isolating and misses any sessions, we will not be able to issue a refund. If the whole Year group is sent home to self-isolate and the club only contains these children and is cancelled, a catch-up session will be arranged at a later date or a refund or credit applied.

What is your risk-assessment policy?

Please see our detailed risk-assessment for clubs taking place in schools here

Does my child need to have any sewing experience?

No. We tailor the projects so that, regardless of ability level, every child gets to complete their project. More experienced sewists will be able to be more creative with their project, while beginners will stick closely to the instructions and guidance from the teacher.

Does my child need to bring anything to the club or workshop?

There's no need to bring anything. All materials and equipment will be supplied.

What if my child is ill on the day?

Please contact us as soon as possible to let us know. For workshops, we are happy to offer your child a catch-up workshop (subject to availability) or a 50% refund of the fee. For school clubs, we are unable to offer any catch-up sessions or refunds for any missed sessions due to illness.

What is your refund policy?

We require 7 days notice to cancel a workshop for a full refund. If it is less than 7 days until your workshop, we would be happy to offer an alternative workshop (subect to availability) at no extra cost or a 50% refund.

What if Pins & Needles cancels the workshop?

A full refund will be issued for any cancelled workshops or clubs.
